Based on the hugely popular series of children's books by Mairi Hedderwick, the Katie Morag Series aired on CBeebies and CBBC in 2013/14. 26 episodes of 15 minutes each, starring Cherry Campbell as Katie Morag, Anne Louise Ross as Grannie Island and Barbara Rafferty as Granma Mainland, along with a host of other magnificent cast members. The series was directed by Don Coutts and Series Produced by Lindy Cameron and Margaret Matheson.
Both series are available via BBC Box and Series One is out on DVD.
In 2014 it won the Best Children's Drama in the Freesat TV awards, and the Royal Television Society Scotland awards, a BAFTA for best Children's Drama and a BAFTA for wee Cherry Campbell for best performance! It also won a Scottish BAFTA 2014 for Best Children's , a Celtic Media Festival Torc, an American Kidscreen Award, the 2015 Children's BAFTA for Best Drama, and the Best Director at the Scottish BAFTA 2015. It was nominated also at the RTS awards 2014 and the Broadcast Awards 2014.
